Do not be intimidated by all the men in your training class. Try to apply for open positions as they come up. Most people only stay in those positions an average of 6 months anyway. Ask for more unpaid maternal leave if you're not ready to come back to work. With my first I only took 12 weeks FMLA (6 weeks paid/6 weeks unpaid). Fidelity also offers up to 12 weeks of personal leave of absence. It's unpaid and has to be approved by director but if you're in a larger department such as Service, it will probably get approved. For breastfeeding moms, they have a "mothers room" for pumping. Very nice with a fridge and sink and limited access.

Human Resources

Many women in leadership positions, at multiple levels. Making progress in typically male dominated functions. Overall diversity is an area of focus but more work to be done. The parental leave policy was just generously enhanced for men and women. Lots of opportunities for women but like all large companies, the experience varies by division.

I've worked at Fidelity for 5 years and it's a good company that I believe cares about its employees. It's a privately held company with many high-level women but some of the policies (e.g., maternity leave) are still a little outdated. WFH is flexible and you get personal days, which is nice. I think men and women are treated fairly.
