"Publicly the company promotes a diverse workforce, but there is very limited diversity in hiring. The workforce is primarily white men and very few people from BIPOC communities. This is due to the lack of company policies supporting diversity and hodge podge interview practices. Managers have no guidance on interview best practices so it's very easy for the process to be biased since the vast majority of people making hiring decisions are white men. There is no anti-bias training required and no efforts by the company to institute required training. There are so many missed opportunities. If you can get onto a good team with supportive leadership then you'll have a great experience at AES. The company name on your resume can look great if you work in the renewable energy industry as an engineer, PM or in construction. Most people work here for a couple years and then move on for higher pay and better benefits. "

"As a woman, the Clean Energy division has been very welcoming and inclusive. There are special events for women with advocacy for the advancement of women's careers throughout the organization. As a working mom, I appreciate that my manager gives me flexibility manage appointments/child care, but I would encourage the company to give a formal path to non-standard working hours, such as part time options or 4x10 schedules. "
