"It is a great fit for some women who enjoy consulting. Adjusting your base hours anywhere between 0 and 40 per week (with proportional drop in pay and benefits of course) is an accepted and typical practice. Overtime past your base is logged as comp time, which can be accumulated and many parents use accumulated comp time for parental leave. It has the typical consulting drawbacks - no paid parental leave, extremely fast paced and expectation that you can be available at all hours. Women are in the significant minority the higher you might advance in the company. People of color are very few and far between."
