For anyone, getting promoted is difficult, and a raise only occurs when you are promoted. Negotiate the highest pay possible when you join. It is very difficult for a female to get recognition. An astonishing number of male employees who are younger than 35 have outdated attitudes about females.

Male upper managers discount input from females. This has been learned well by male programmers - I had to feed my most crucial suggestions to a male in order for them to be heard.

Be self motivated and learn to navigate the various systems at work early , do not get involved in the division dynamics too much and ask for what you need

Maybe. There are great perks to being part of the bank and the institution does have initiatives to support women ,but it also depends on the role and supervisor whether you can avail of the benefits

Countless situations where deserving women are not promoted. Sexist attitudes. Women who are mothers are treated with suspicion about their commitment to the job. There is no one culture - some managers are good but senior management not supportive of women.
