"Still a long way to go in terms of workplace culture for inclusion and diversity - Oil & Gas is still very heavily an old boys' club. Base case I think the nature of manufacturing and production facilities which are running 24/7/365 tends to push people to feel like they always need to be available.
The company does have good benefits, especially with the extra 8 weeks of family leave passed in 2017. Biggest challenge is setting your own limits for work/life balance as the culture will always be there pushing to be available more hours and "always on"."

"Company passed an extra 8 weeks of family leave for both parents in 2017, which is a great improvement. Still remains to be seen what the fallout will be for employees who actually use their time off, as the general culture is flexible work hours on paper "at supervisors discretion" and then judging people behind their backs for not putting in long hours and a lot of desk time. Overall, culture pushes people to work extra hours (running joke is the question - "Why give employees 9/80s when we get them to work 10/100s?")"
