"Diversity and inclusion initiative is theatre, its all show and little actual change has occurred since its inception. Mansplaining and ageism is rampant. Managers are so busy building and maintaining their fiefdoms that they neglect their own team, steal and sell team member's work as their own, and only care about their own advancement. Pay is average, and the benefits are above average. "

"It had taken 2 years for a very minimal flexibility policy to be approved by the executives. (All white males in key leadership positions whose wives probably stayed at home to raise families. They are very out of touch with the reality of dual working couples.) Outside of the corporate office, however, there were flexible arrangements happening. The new policy was announced a few weeks before COVID struck. Just like that EVERYONE was working from home! It was the push the leadership needed to see that it could work. Now that the world is coming out of COVID hybrid approaches are being discussed. Likely there will be some type of hybrid/flexible policy. If there isn't, there will likely be substantial turnover as they won't be able to compete with other employers offering flexibility."

"We are a strong company where you can learn and grow throughout your career. There are mentors available for you to partner with and we launched a BRG specifically focused on Women. As a 185 year old engineering company there are some old practices that leaders are working to evolve and are becoming more open to change. You can really make an impact here."

"This may also be dependent upon your manager but I have seen a good amount of flexibility to control your own calendar. When it was not COVID, we had the ability to request flex work schedules, work from home 1-2 days per week, etc. Even compressed work weeks were available."

"I have heard managers ask to women if they are are pregnant or have plans to do so. there are managers do not hire female engineers justifying that the role of consultant engineer is not for women because of travel involved, even if engineer female applicants are interviewed are not hire based on these view."
