"I think there may be some interesting developments in the future with a new global CEO who recently hired a female head of HR (yes, I know, typical HR) but with an impressive consulting background. It's a start and may lead to some change. I think you have a small window of time to make an impression and achieve objectives for which you may have been hired (or promised). If your ideas are not being heard and your experience is not being used after two to three years, I would go elsewhere. Do not think you can change the culture. It will change you and your skills will erode. Chalk it up as an interesting experience and move on. However, if you are making a difference, stay on for another year or two and re-evaluate where you are then."
