"I have acknowledged that men and women are not treated equally here, but that is not a bad thing. Women are very outnumbered by men (but that gap is closing as more women enter this field). Part of my job is to periodically lift heavy boxes or get out a ladder to access something that needs tending to. (I used to take out the office garbage once a week - if I remembered...) When I have to do any of these duties, most of the time, once of the guys in the office will immediately ask if he can do that for me. It's not condescending; they know I'm capable of it. But where they are wearing clothing and shoes that techs usually wear and I'm in dress clothes, they want to be helpful and kind. At LMT, there are many men working here - young and not as young as they used to be. It's nice to know there are gentlemen here who show their appreciation for the work you do through their kind actions."
