There are a lot of women at Nike, at the Manager level and below. However, the boys network insures that the guys bring their cronies with them for the ride to the top. They count on women, for sure, in support job...."get shit done" in Nike speak. They then are free to head off to a soccer game or a pub, because the women are staying behind doing the work, making them look good.

It's more about who you know versus what you know working here. There's a hierarchy and to get to the top it can be somewhat intimidating. Men and women are treated fairly equal, but entry level employees are put in their place and are frequently reminded that they aren't at the top and don't have the benefits of senior employees.
