"Large organization with a generally mission-driven and positive culture. Things like flexibility and work-life balance will vary a lot by department. Overall it has a very inclusive culture."

"Decent lactation rooms, however it was frowned upon to go pump. Minimal work life balance. Working from home was discouraged. I witnessed some favoritism based on looks with men

"Males are paid higher than women, compensation is unfair across the board, they tend to pay less to internal promotions, yet up to 10-12k (annually) to external hires. Leaving you wondering why you continue to get paid less than other academic medical centers in NYC and why you remained with NYU. "

"Although the majority of employees are female..don’t get pregnant here, they don’t structure the system to allow you to be out and get paid for longer than 12-18 weeks. Although you can stay out 6 months max without pay - before they’ll get rid of your job. "

"The benefits are great - as you would expect at a medical center. There are discussions occuring around the topic of "flexible" or "remote" policies, but they will not be open to managers. My hope is that the institution becomes more open to flexible opportunities so that it may retain talent. "
