"Owens Corning has a great relationship based culture. However, I would not recommend this to women of color since the organization is not very diverse (especially at the executive level)."

"Be cautious about accepting a position here if you are looking for career advancement and/or have long-term goals. Owens Corning's culture is very antiquated, with few women and minorities in leadership positions. Those who are have been appointed by government (see friends of state governors). These government-appointed individuals happen to make up the legal department of Owens Corning and are the reason the organization gets away with discriminating against women, minorities, and those over 40. Please research this company very carefully before applying."

"Run.
It is well known at staff level in the manufacturing plants - that you are expected to sacrifice family at the altar of work.
They speak out of both sides of their mouth regarding this policy. One senior female leader said a solution to the problem was to have your husband stay at home.
If you are considering a career here - at minimum ask about staff attrition rate. That should tell you all you need to know."

"Overall, there is great opportunity for advancement for women, but this is more applicable in certain departments. Several functions are still very heavily male, and therefore the conversations and discussions can take a masculine tone that has to be "tolerated" by the few women in the meeting room. "
