"There are brighter spots than others across the organization but in general you will see almost no women in leadership positions (above VP) in recent years. The culture has become increasingly more dominated by Korean men (sent from HQ) and it's very much a dictatorship-culture where individuals are not empowered to have their own thoughts or strategies, only implement what the boss says without any challenge. Women are noticeably more interrupted by men and the culture rewards aggression and toxicity."

"According to the recruitment and HR managers I spoke to, women engineers leave at 2x the rate of men and only account for 8% of engineering.
An effort to improve mentoring through a Women in Technology that was inclusive to all employees was met with a lot of backlash from male employees. One male manager created a separate group exclusive to men only and called it Men in Technology for male-to-male mentoring only.
I have reported supervisors that have explicitly said that they will not hire women, but nothing happened and they are still in a hiring/management role. I have seen female colleagues punished for needing to pump milk and denied promotions for having a "long lunch". I have personally been harassed multiple times by managers, security, and colleagues. If you do not let it roll off your back, you are ignored and given the silent treatment/removed from chats with important work-related information.
There are few women at Samsung because of the discrimination and harassment, and the executives and management teams are not committed to a safe and equitable working environment.
If you are a new female hire, hiring managers are likely to walk you to the few females that do work there (I've seen this repeatedly) and they say "see, women work here too". Just ask HR for the demographics. Nothing has changed in the last 20 years. "
