"Make sure you sign up for short-term disability insurance the day you are hired. They don't allow you to sign up for it later. Also, make sure you have a signed letter with the end date of maternity leave, as they tried to change it and force me to come back 2 weeks earlier because there was a lot of turnover in HR while I was on my leave. I ultimately left because initially I was told I could extend once I was on leave, but the new Director of HR said that was not her interpretation of the policy, and refused to allow me an additional 4 weeks while I adjusted to my son's acid reflux and related sleep issues.
They had flex time policies, which was great when you worked late or on weekends for an event or special needs, which let you come in late or leave early on another day. "
