"There is at least a notional commitment to gender equality here, with a number of upper-level administrators as well as a large proportion of the workforce being women. The university has achieved the Athena SWAN bronze level. As a member of Universities UK (UUK), there is acknowledgment that the gender pay gap which exists across UUK needs further work to address. I think there is a risk for a gender gap to open up at lower-level research positions as the university attempts to drive down wages for postdocs. This will likely affect he wage history of early-career researchers, more and more of which are women."
