Discussion Question

My VP doesn't know anything about the buildings she manages

I have a VP over many buildings in my company and she seems to be extremely un-knowledgeable, disorganized, and tells our Board of Directors everything is running smoothly. How do I share my concerns anonymously without rocking the boat? All of our HR team (VP, Directors, Assistants, etc) has left with the exception of one person. Our VP is also very good personal friends with her direct supervisor, the President.

It doesn't look like you are going to be able to do this anonomously. You'll have to decide if she is doing such a bad job that she is ruining everything, You'll have to come up with some concrete examples of her work and point it out to someone she reports to. You could let the chips fall where they may also. No one can be that incompetent at her job and get away with it forever.

As a gentleman who was a Federal Deputy EEO Officer for the Department of Defense, I'm very impressed with your site and advice. I've shared a few emails of yours with my son, a Project Manager/Security & Computer Engineer which he found extremely helpful in job interviews both in hiring and accepting job offers too...keep up the awesome things that you do!!!

I'm a recruiter for the largest staffing and recruiting firm in the country. I'm seeing a lot of people on this thread who are extremely stressed out about finding work, and I think you guys need to start seriously considering working with recruiters to find jobs. NOT ALL RECRUITERS ARE EQUAL! I work for Aerotek, where we value your goals, skills, and interests and we find you a "perfect fit": the job that actually utilizes your experience and abilities. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you are looking for work in the Portland, OR metro area. I can be reached via this thread, and, if you're seriously interested, please let me know and I will share my email.

I'm starting to get a really bad case of morning sickness and have had to take a couple days off work because I didn't want anyone to know. I feel like it's way to early to have the conversation at work but if I keep having to run to the bathroom I'm not sure how I can hide my pregnancy any longer! Any advice? Maybe it's not so bad to tell people now...
