Fairygodboss surveyed 1,000 women who work full-time across the United States to better understand how the COVID-19 pandemic, including the surge of the Delta variant and introduction of vaccinations, has impacted their career mobility, office preferences and general career satisfaction.
While there has been much reported about the Great Resignation, our findings indicate that flexibility, work/life balance, and satisfaction with pay, benefits and company leadership, are key reasons why 61% of women are choosing to stay at their current employers. It’s unsurprising, then, that of the 39% of women who want to leave their employers, the majority lack those key support resources with 66% saying they are experiencing burnout.
Among other key findings:
73% of women say they would not leave their employers if they required COVID vaccinations
85% of women are still employed by the same employer as they were in 2020 and 68% plan on staying with that employer for 2 or more years
Women who perceive that their employer supports diversity, equity and inclusion are more likely to stay at their employer; think their organization handled the pandemic response well, and were able to work from home
