Since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic, employee resource groups (ERGs) have played an increasingly visible role within corporate America, serving as a mechanism for employee communication, connection and engagement when employees are working from home. Unfortunately, their efforts have not been enough to stave off the impact of the so-called “She-Secession,” which has caused nearly three million women to resign from the workplace since March 2020. This departure from the workforce is part of a wider recession that is affecting workers of all demographics and due to a confluence of factors, some of which, like caretaking, disproportionately affect women.
Against this backdrop, Fairygodboss hosted our fifth annual Galvanize: Making Women’s Resource Groups Powerful conference on October 12-13 to discuss ways that these ERGs can become more effective in helping support and advance women in the workplace.
