I get it.
Not everyone likes to share that they’ve been fired.
But what if you decide to reframe it and see it as “In good company”
Oprah was fired.
Steve Jobs was fired.
JK Rowling was fired.
Mark Cuban was fired.
I was fired.
I like to see it as In Good Company about to do Great Things!
If I hadn’t been fired I would have never:
Written Confidence Creator
Launched my podcast
Become Top 40 Female Keynote Speaker 2020
Become faculty at Harvard teaching professional selling & sales leadership
Or have signed with Harper Collins Leadership to launch my new book this November 9th!
If I hadn’t been fired, I’d still be playing small.
Dimming my light in hopes it would brighten others.
Thank goodness I was fired!
It was never a rejection, it’s always been a redirection to something so much bigger!
How do you see getting fired?

well, i am a healthcare provider so getting terminated (not for cause) was catastrophic for me. I couldn't explain to recruiters that our hospital system was going under and 5 of us were let go (the division was closing)--after all, if you write prescriptions for people, your reputation must be impeccable--everyone wants to "shy away" from the provider who got let go by the failing hospital. So, getting "fired" can certainly be more catastrophic in some professions more than others. Think about that.
Unfortunately, this is always something I fear and I can't seem to shake it! Any tips?
start asking yourself what is the worst that can happen? then ask yourself what other times have you survived that you believed would be hard? then start taking action to create the life that you want. make sure to surround yourself with people who are where you want to be!
I didn't realize it at the time, but it lead me to a much better, happier place. There is so much out there! Recognize and take responsibility for your mistakes, learn from them and grow as a person.
yes!
The world is a bigger place than the places that are behind us. Well said!
