Second Chapter Women Entrepreneurs

Ladies,

I would love to get your thoughts. I am in my mid 50's, and I am a Dir. of Marketing in an F500 company. Previously, I was a Global Head of Marketing for a digital agency. My current employer did not represent the role appropriately. As a result, I am working for a VP in his 30's who is trying to be groomed for a CEO role. He has no experience in the marketing field, and this is a placeholder role for him to learn the function. Additionally, I transitioned from the digital space to industrial manufacturing. I am extraordinarily dissatisfied and under-utilized. I am considering investing in a staffing franchise. Many years ago, I had a very successful career in recruiting. I would love to get your thoughts on whether you think this is a good idea and any recommendations.  Thanks!

Investing in a franchise sounds like it will be rather expensive. Having said that, there are several things you need to consider. How long do you plan to work before retirement? Is such a large investment financially feasible? Are you determined to return to the recruitment industry? Can you find a Director of Recruitment role with another organization? What are your reasons for considering this career change? Take your time and really think about your motives, values, and goals before making such a big decision. I wish you all the best!

Have you spoken with your current employer about this discrepancy?
