Career Change Support for Women In Tech

Hello Everyone,

I am really trying to pivot my career change into a creative field for awhile and the process is exhausting. I have tried multiple things and been close, but nothing solidified. I have some experience in freelancing, but want something full-time specifically in the areas of Graphic Design, Presentation Design, Marketing/Communications/Branding, Visual, UI, or Web. Even trying to find junior roles has been overwhelming. Any advise? I've tried talking to different people and even continued learning and revamping. It's slightly cumbersome!

Do you have a portfolio? How are you leveraging your prior experience? As a hiring manager, I love cover letters that tell me WHY (https://aurorameyer.com/2021/09/30/emphasize-your-why-in-cover-letters-template/). Why you want to work for my organization, why you want to do the work outlined in the job description and HOW your experience sets you apart from every other applicant. In an interview, I appreciate specific examples of how you work and how your knowledge give you an edge.

Volunteer work, not to do the creative work, but to network. It has worked well for me. Another strategy is telling and I mean telling everyone you are looking for a job. My friend got a job by talking to a woman on a bus. I got one by volunteering and not by the company I was volunteering for, but by someone I met who was a director of another company.
