Art Gallery looking to add more integrated e-commerce
Hiya’ll,
Looking to update a website that was originally created in iWeb and is currently and until 2023 hosted by WebHostingPad.
WHP includes WordPress, WP includes WooCommerce. I've poked around a bit, and found my print-centric ad brain having a hard time "intuiting" what it's all about (thank you YouTube;-). Plus, it seems they really aren’t free after all…?
The owner of the site understandably wants to “use the features” he’s already paying for in the hosting subscription. And I’m trying to suss out what is actually available and practical. Why is this so confusing to me?
I could really use some advice. As a webmaster, I’m kinda lame but I do know HOW most builders work. I’ve created sites in GoogleSites, Shopify, Wix, Weebly and iWeb. This whole WP/Woo thing is mindblowing;-)
A Thousand Thank Yous!!
Hey guys! Thanks for your help and patience. My client’s art went viral again last week and I’m currently waiting on orders from the printer. Updating the website is next priority, so stay tuned!
Have a great day!
Hi Patty, I realize this post is old. I'm a wordpress developer and designer and could provide you or you and your client with a walk-through orientation of wordpress and woocomerce, point you to the features that might be helpful in their business and answer questions at the level you need. I do charge for my time, but am experienced in providing this kind of coaching and support to entrepreneurs. Some folks do most of the work themselves but bring me in for training or help with the more technical bits or practical advice. Sometimes even just knowing where to begin.
Hi Patty! Working with WordPress is not complicated at all! Well, I should qualify that with it depends on whether you need to just customize a template, or do some major rewiring on the back-end. My best advice is for you to create an account on WordPress.com and play around with the platform. Once you get the logic behind how things are structured, it's very easy to experiment and customize.
Hope this helps!
