Looking for job opportunities and rant

I recently graduated with my Master in Information Systems with a certificate in Cybersecurity in Jan. I am having a hard time finding employment. My feedback from some employers I need a certification. Since when certifications triumphs a Master's Degree? It's very frustrating to keep getting rejected.

Does your resume reflect experience in the areas where certification might be expected. Masters should trump certification, but your resume needs to show that you have the ability to do the tasks that the certification proves. Resume keywords and details really do matter when the first thing to see your info is not a pair of human eyes. If the scanning tools are looking for certs, they are also looking for skills related to the cert.

Like you Tiffany I graduated last April with my Bachelor Degree in Security Management with a Certificate in Cybersecurity. Although I don't have the experience in this field but the knowledge as I work on a computer daily for my accounting role I also wonder if there's an employer whose willing to take the chance of hiring me. Yes I agree you have to have certifications these days before they will hire.
