Side Hustle to Self Employed

Hey Everyone!

I joined this platform and this group a year ago, and only now just swinging back around to it. Last year I became self-employed! Woohoo! I'm finding that the energy requirements to market every day are burdensome for me. I'm an introvert and generally operate at a much slower pace than the rest of the world. I'm finding it hard to follow all the extroverted "10 step plans to business success" stuff because I simply don't go as fast as others. Sometimes it takes me a while to post on social platforms, compared to others who are more of a "whiz" at it. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get my message out so that I don't find myself exhausted? Thanks!

hi there - I'm in a similar situation. fairly introverted and also needing to get my message out there. My tactic so far has been to assess what feels good to me: one on one conversations, writing, making offers along with asks and then build my strategy around those things vs. the things that drain my energy. I have a daily plan for who from my network I'm going to reach out to and what 1-2 other things I'm going to do for the day. Yes, you will have to do some of the energy draining stuff - but if you start with what comes naturally you will be more balanced overall. Good luck!

Hi, Whilst social media is great, ask yourself if that's where your audience "hangs out"? If it is, pick just 1-2 platforms - it's easy to think you need be everywhere. Batch your posts - I have a file for future ideas and spend a couple hours a week writing and scheduling posts. There are so many apps that allow you do that. Consider longer form content including blogging and podcasting - one article can give you a week of posts. Lastly, don't feel you have to conform to a 10 Step plan - find what works for you. I work with midlife entrepreneurs, so DM me if you'd like more info

Francesca is absolutely correct. Social media is ALL about consistency. You may want to consider hiring a virtual assistant to manage your social media. If you would like some direction, please inbox me. All the best to you!

Welcome to entrepreneurship! I do all my social media "posting" once a week with blocks of time for "engagement." I'm an ambivert, so sometimes I need to wait until I'm recharged before diving back in. But social media is all about consistency.
