Hello,
What job boards do people recommend for accounting or bookkeeping jobs? I am signed up on LinkedIn, Indeed, Career Builder, and Monster. Many of the results I am receiving seem "scammy" to me. For instance, a result from LinkedIn with a job title such as "Accounting Clerk/Remote Job" takes me to a posting about opinion focus groups -- not even close!
I've been in bookkeeper roles for well over 20 years, and I just received my bachelor's in accounting last month. So far, my job search has been very disappointing, both in jobs available and in posted pay amounts.
Are there other, better sites to use?
I am having the same experience with LinkedIn, Indeed, Career Builder, and Monster. If LinkedIn has an EasyApply position I go to the company site to concern the position exist you would believe how many do not show up. I have been using EarnBetter.com, and Swooped (both free). Give them a try and see if that helps.
On LinkedIn real jobs will be posted by a company that you can see and a person you can see. Reputable companies post their jobs online too.
Hi,
Please use a recruiter specific to you area and industry you are interested in. I find it to be much quicker
I'm not opposed to that, but I've never done that and have no idea how to find one. Any suggestions?
Hi,
I'm based in London.
However, I follow people on LinkedIn with similar jobs and see which recruiters they are connected with.
You might also be able to get recommendations from these individuals to advise if the recruiter is good.
I also googled finance recruiters in my specific location in my industry and checked them out on LinkedIn/Google reviews.
Some job boards also have recruiter postings.. so instead of applying on the board just call the recruiter if possible .
I often come across Accounting related openings when I search for jobs on:
Builtin
Comparably.com
Glassdoor
Google
Remotely
Remote.io
Salary.com
Simplyhired
Lawcrossing
Thanks!
And Ziprecruiter has some.
Accountant here: sadly, those hiring seem to throw in IT Lead, Director of HR, Customer Service. Also want CPA for roles none is needed (experienced 15y)
Jobs there but have to look for them
Thanks for the tips! Yeah, I've seen some listings for "CPA preferred" on jobs that are paying less than $20/hour. I laughed out loud.
Right??! Same here. I have experience doing what is in ads but I'm getting MORE and no CPA
These organizations will turn around and say "we can't find anyone "
I do not what state your in but check for state and local municipalities. While waiting you might be able to sign up with a temp agency for accountants. There you have a start while waiting for that position you work hard to obtain by finishing your degree.
Thank you.
And watch for agencies: many are falsified jobs to get you in the door (weekly quota) then they ghost you or waaaàay undermine your salary. Good in a pinch if you need no benefits.
