Job seeker
I was laid off due to Covid-19 on March 30. I am in the middle of divorce, selling the house for court order and looking for a new job. So far I have applied to so many jobs and I have received only rejection.
I am in need for a job, because I can't buy or rent without income.
I'm sorry you're going through all of this but God must have a bigger plan for you! It's the start of a whole new chapter in your career and life, so why not embrace the journey and focus on the potential?
What types of roles have you had vs where are you trying to fit in now? Just blindly sending resumes to computers is the worst way, as only about 1 in 10 jobs are ever filled that way. It's sad, but true.
It also gets harder as we carry that look and smell of "need" in our language, our voice, our vocabulary...and that is not appealing to a hiring manager. Such an unfair but not uncommon reality.
May I suggest that often, we don't land jobs as we're after the "wrong" things...if you want help with a free tool to do some reflecting on your non-negotiable priorities, it may help you embrace a different lens on your future in your "new normal."
When you're clear on your strengths, and what matters most, it's often easier to pursue what's truly right for you (and the company). Those are the win-win Cinderella moments we all crave, right?
