Sending a great phone interview follow-up
Hi All - I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for sending email follow-ups after a phone interview? Anything that is mind-blowing or amazing? I've done the standard "thank you for your time/we align on XYZ/etc" but I feel like it's not packing a memorable punch.
Yes! Any details you can add about the interviewer personalizes the response. I typically take notes even on phone interviews, so I try to write down one or two things they said even if it’s about having a cold or an upcoming work event!
Thank you all!
I always try to include something I learned from our conversation. I always want the person that interviewed me to feel like they didn't waste their efforts in talking to be and prove I can listen well! An important quality in any employee.
I always add a short paragraph to elaborate further on one of the topics that was discussed in the phone interview.
Concentrate on your eagerness and thank them immensely for being considered! Also maybe ask for a timeline or the next steps in the interviewing process?
