Talk about yourself question
Hi guys, I’m new to the group.
I’ve been doing some interviews abs always stumble on the question “talk about yourself”.
What is the best approach? Talk about career and experience or about personality traits?
Any tips?
Thanks!!
Celeste
Thanks guys! Very helpful comments and tips! Enjoy your day! ?
Totally agree with the above comment! Think of that question as "tell me your story" (without too many irrelevant details of course). You don't have to give every detail about every job you've ever had, but hit the highlights and give some supporting detail to the important parts to help make yourself more memorable. End it with talking about where you see yourself going or where you want to go (which should relate to the job you're interviewing for) and it will provide an easy transition for the interviewer to talk about the role.
Career experience. Explain where you started career wise and how that led you to where you are now(sitting in front of the interviewer) also tell them anything you've been working on that would make you a good fit based on their job description. That's what all the career coaches on YouTube say anyway lol.
Agreed!
