I am in the midst of a consultant role in a position and a company that I am really excited about.
They have a big name in my industry.
Although it's only a few months long, I am still looking for full-time gigs, so I need to continue sending out resumes and interviews.
I want to list this role on my resume because it is an impressive position and company, but I'm not sure what to write as I'm in it now, and I want to show that I'm not just looking for a new job after a month.
Would I put something like the below?
Company XYZ
x start date – Present
Title ABC, Three-month Maternity Leave Coverage
In the title place, I put:
Finance Manager (Contract)
I would list them as a client. You are consulting after all :).
Hello
I recommend removing the maternity leave statement since that is about someone else. The duration could be longer if the person does not return . If it is only 3 months, I would not list it unless you have been consulting longer. I know it is a tough call since the company is impressive. Consider 2 issues for you: the company name or the potential of only a 3 month stint on your resume.
What about saying you are consulting and this is your client?
I agree with those who have said "contract role." No need to be this specific.
I've put contractor, or contract position so it's understandable if shorter term employment. If you're currently there, put present as stated below. If future companies want to check your dates of work history, you'll have to list the agency as your employer.
I think you can also just write "Present" or "Current" if you're afraid of calling attention to the short time frame.
I would use words like short-term contract position. It sounds less specific and 'could' indicate that you might have a crack at moving into a permanent position, but that you are realistic and staying on the job market.
