Due to COVID, I have been unemployed since May of 2020.
I have a disability ( Multiple Sclerosis ) and I am 51 years old. I have upped my skills and am also PMP certified. I need to be able to work remotely for my health and safety. I have not been able to find employment. I can't help but think ageism and disability discrimination are behind this.

You are probably facing both ageism and ableism. I would suggest removing items from your resume that hint to your age (removing jobs from more than 10 years prior, years of graduation etc). Thank you for your response! I tailor my resume for each job I apply for. My last job was more than 10 years. I was employed with my previous employer from 2006 - 2020. I won't be able to remove that from my resume.

This definitely is not an easy situation to navigate, but the remote work opportunities are much greater now, as are employment options in general. The market is really just insane; is it possible your resume could be holding you back? When I talk to someone who has been searching, without luck, for a lengthy period of time, there are likely some pieces of the process that can be optimized.
Are you getting interviews? Or are you going into a "black hole"? If the latter, then the resume can work for you more, and if it's interviewing, that's an area to build. I recommend you review your search tactics to see where the common hang-up is and address that area. There are also tricks to downplay your age on the resume, while keeping your experience, as well!

Thank you for your response Angie! I agree the market is insane! I have had my resume reviewed by several credible job sites. I do customize my resume for every job I apply to. I have gotten many initial phone interviews, but it stops there. It is possible my resume has slipped into some black holes.
