Hello Ladies. I just heard about this site today and am excited to learn more. I was laid off in a role as a Director of Product last January. I have over 20 years of experience in Software.
The job search has been absolutely grueling. I have had so many jobs that I thought I would be perfect for. I have had so many interviews that I thought would lead to something. And yet I faced the end of the year without a single offer. I was disenchanted, but I am hopeful that things will get better this year.
I see a lot of DEI policies being walked back heading towards the tech bros administration. I know for a fact that in several cases last year I was on the top 2 - 5 candidate list and was not chosen in favor of a less qualified male. I look at those situations as blessings, but at the end of the day I need to find work.
I've tried to start my own business with some super intelligent executives, but we can't seem to find the proper funding to make our dream a reality.
So I come here asking for advice about companies that I should pursue that are looking to hire super smart and talented women to help lead their organization. Please send your lists of companies I should target or places that I can research to identify these companies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Not sure what Director of Product means or what software experience you have. As a former IT recruiter, I would suggest you contact an IT staffing firm. Be sure you have all of your skills listed so the systems will pick them up. Best to pick up a contract if you're in IT as the longer the months drag on, the more dated your skills will be perceived. If you have certifications list them. I always suggest looking at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Occupational Outlook handbook https://www.bls.gov/ooh/ This can help you target job titles of sorts that can list salaries and industries. It's a really helpful tool. I'm in higher ed. Great tool that I've personally used. Consider looking at government jobs, including universities/colleges. You may have to take a step back in pay, but the benefits are so much better than corporate (imho). I've worked in both for years.
