Health Non Profit Professional Looking to Move to Detroit
Hi! I am currently in the thick of job searching outside of where I currently reside (Charlotte, NC). I have 7+ years of experience between consulting and working within a health non-profit. I currently am looking for new opportunities in the health space or non-profit, social enterprise space in Detroit, MI, which is where I am from. Any suggestions on connections, organizations/companies, or advice when going through the out of state job hunt are appreciated!

I'm not from Detroit but did a quick google search and found the Michigan Nonprofit Association's Job List. It could be a good place to start:

Also, just as a general note I wouldn't hesitate utlizing LinkedIn to see who you can meet for a phone call or cup of coffee once you move. Meetup.com is also great to find events in almost any field. I even had a few clients who had success going to different nonprofit charity events. One went to a JDRF walk and ended up networking her way into a paid position with that organization. Keep an open mind and you'll land on your feet :)
Good luck on your move! I've been there (Moved from FL to Pittsburgh nine years ago and it is still one of the hardest things I've done). You've got this!

Great idea! Thank you so much for the suggestions. Yes, definitely been leveraging my LinkedIn. Thankfully, I do have quite a few connections still back home, so trying to do as many informational interviews as I can. Appreciate the support and insight!! Thank you for taking the time to respond.
