Believe in me! :)
I need some help navigating a career in Interior Design with little to no experience at all. Where do I start?? I have done so much research and job searching for internships and jobs that will hire entry level people and I just need a little extra help! :) BTW- Happy Tuesday beautiful.
We believe in you!
I’d love to invite you to our new professional profile (which is different than your current community profile) and quick apply feature –– which gives you closer access to recruiters who are actively looking to hire more women.
These features helps you avoid the job application black hole by receiving updates on your application status in real-time and the option to message the company directly after submitting your profile (link below).
Please let me know if you have any questions, best of luck with your search and please keep us posted!

Definitely get your certificate! But also, although I usually tell people never to work for free, you will need a portfolio. If you have time, contact some nonprofits doing good things in your area and offer to design their offices at no cost if you can use photos and videos in your portfolio. Also, see if they will write you recommendations for your work.
Gracie and Quantjockey - thank you to both of you. Is very challenging when I am on my own, unemployed, looking for a job on the side and focusing in finding what we love to do.
Thank you very much for this comment! It feels great to know that I am not the only one starting from the bottom. I am going to take your comment to heart and start looking into getting my Interior Decorating Certificates ! Good Luck, I am rooting for you!
Hi Gracie Rose - My name is Pilar Gutierrez, and I am on the same path as you. I have been an administrative assistant and I know that some of my skills are transferable to any field yet, interior design is sort of like a very close niche if we do not possess the license to be able to get in. I am looking to start by getting a certification to see if that gets me in the doors of this industry I love so much. I am also looking to find a network of designers I can 'socialize with" to make my case with them.
