I have an in-person interview and I’m struggling with coming up with questions to ask at the end.
I only asked one question at the end of my last interview and I keep thinking about how I should’ve been prepared to ask more. I’d love to have a list of questions to ask hiring managers, potential managers and/or people interviewing me that might be on my team.
Does anyone have any go-to questions they can share? Thanks in advance!
I always like to ask questions like "How do you measure success in a role like this?" or "From where you sit, what are your biggest challenges today and how can this position help?
great ones. thank you!
Here are some of mine. I practice HR and they always work:
1.What is the greatest strength the person coming into this role needs?
2.What is the biggest challenge that will be presented in this role?
3.What still excites you on a daily basis about working here?
4. How will this role work with you?
5. Outside of getting to know the team, what is the first thing you feel needs to be focused on?
6, What do the 30/60/90 days look like?
Thank you!
How was the last person in the role most successful?
How would you describe the team dynamics?
What are the 90 days goals for the person coming into this role?
What is the average tenure for people on the team?
How would you describe the culture of the company?
So helpful! Thank you!
"Which part of the position has the steepest learning curve?" Because you're also interviewing them! This helps address challenges you may not know about and helps you think about if it's a challenge you actually want to tackle if offered the job. Good luck and keep us posted!
Ask them about the culture. Ask them what kind of person would be worst for the position, and offer to be honest about whether the fit would be bad up-front. Ask if there is anything they would like to hear about that has not been covered.
