Hi all!
I recently resigned from my previous role as a content marketing director because my employer had fallen into financial hardship and stopped paying us in December 2023. I have over 15 years of experience in marketing, primarily focused on content development/editing, in the financial services industry, but am really open to anything that is a remote role. I have applied to a lot of jobs so far, but can't seem to get an interview (and I'm customizing my resume and cover letter for each role using key words from the job description). I know it's a tough market out there but any suggestions or connections would be greatly appreciated.
I suggest looking at the ATS to make sure you are customizing the resume for screening Here is a web site that discussed the ATS screening method. https://www.jobscan.co/blog/ats-resume/. The second suggestion is to contact people in area you are interested in directly. This can be trade shows, LinkedIn, or other platforms. Do not directly ask them for a job. Just have a conversation about the field and how their job is interesting. Getting a feel of the company and perhaps different segments where your skills apply should be the first networking step.
Agree. I have an MBA and over seven years management experience. I’ve applied to over twenty positions. I’ve only heard from two. It’s crazy.
