College Grad
I recently just got my degree in business Administration. Are there any recommendations on where I can apply? ive looked everywhere and every job post is asking for years of experience. I currently work at a non-profit but they dont have any other openings. I am looking for something remote as I am still continuing my education.
I'm in the same boat! Graduated in December with a degree in Business Administration as well, and haven't found a thing and I started searching in my junior year. The job market is very tough and employers are looking for highly skilled people, especially for remote jobs. Like others have suggested, reach out to your alumni network and see if they can help. Additionally, get a certificate or license in a specific area of interest. For example, I've started doing a project management certificate program and will get the Project Management Professional (PMP) license at some point. Also, learn to use Excel if you haven't already. I've been seeing a lot of job postings requiring advance skills in Excel. You can learn it for free on YouTube, Coursera, Alison, edX, etc. The more skilled you are the better. Sadly, the days of new graduates finding entry level jobs that will train you is gone. Good luck!
Internships would serve you well as you continue on with education, also, remote is going to be rare moving forward.
Hi and congratulations on your degree! Welcome to workforce.
Have you been in contact with your school's alumni/career department? They could help you get connected with alumni and organizations that are looking to hire early career talent like yourself.
You also could take the approach of searching for "early career" roles at the companies that interest you too. Sometimes, the early careers are still grouped with paid internships/apprenticeships so don't rule those out --- just remain open to putting yourself out there.
If you haven't done so, I'd also spend some time on LinkedIn connecting with recruiters who focus on hiring early career talent. They might have upcoming career fairs (virtual) or special hiring events to connect you to the right internal teams that are hiring.
The most important thing is to remain open as an early careers candidate! Since you have a BA in Business Admin, you don't have to know what exactly you want to do yet; just treat your job hunt as an experiment to "try out" organizations until you find your footing.
Good luck to you!!
I got a terrific job through my school’s job center!
And while LinkedIn is a good resource my advice is to network! Wherever you go let people know that you’re looking. That worked for me too decades later.
