Is it ever ok to ask the person who will be interviewing you if you can see some of the interview questions so that you can prepare for your interview?
If you go to glass door and Google a specific company there’s tabs like jobs and there’s an interview tab, click on that and people will have written what the interview questions are I found it very helpful
I wouldn't, but if you know someone else at the company I think it's totally ok to ask them what you should prepare for. You can also check Glassdoor as many people will post about the questions they were asked.
Echoing what Barb said that it depends, but in most cases, this is inappropriate. Aside from being unprofessional and appearing like you lack confidence, part of an interview is seeing how candidates react to unexpected questions. If you have spoken to a *recruiter* firsthand (not just via written communication) more than once and the conversation has been informal, I think you could ask something like “Are there standard interview questions for candidates?” Note I said the recruiter—I would never ask an interviewer for questions in advance.
I would say "it depends"
If you are applying for a technical position, many times there are development tests/problem solving interview questions in the interview (although I've never through those types of questions into the first interview rounds, and I always tell interviewees that round 2 or 3 would include a DEV test so most people know they are walking into a test/problem solving interview)
You might want to ask the scope of the interview so you can prepare
But other than that, I would say just be prepared!
The short answer is NO. Your best strategy is to prepare exceptionally well for all possibilities so that you enter the interview fully confident in your ability to slay it no matter what.
