Good morning and thanks for the acceptance.
I'm currently seeking a change in career path. I support C-level (CEO, President) and have an MBA in social media marketing and CAPM - I've been supporting a Director (my CEO decided he was stepping back as full time and wanted someone - the word used was 'malleable' - after 6 years. My Director was happy to let me pursue projects and goals that support my style and still allow for supporting her - we are pretty close in age, style and professionalism. She's leaving (the company culture is not supportive. We have no HR department - we rely on a PEO, thru a mishandling of a bullying scenario - where she was bullied by another Director - she's out the door with severance to find her joy. I know I need to work remotely, I also work very well unsupervised - give me a challenge and I meet it. I have great performance reviews. I know this will be a shuffle while leadership figures out what to do with our department and I don't see a future in just being the only EA without a direct report to manage. Thoughts? Direction?
See how the changes play out. If you don't like it, you will find another place to land easily with your background. I wish you the best of luck! And trust your gut, it's 99% of time correct!
It seems it may also be the perfect time for you to also transition into what brings you joy!
I agree with the comments above. Whatever you decide to do, best of luck.
It seems like you have an impressive background. Maybe it's worth it to start passively job seeking for that new role and see if anything sparks your eye!
If your intuition or gut is telling you to pursue new avenues, go for it! You have a dynamic background and experience. You don't need permission to follow your dreams!
