I am looking for support for a resume rewrite with a consultant that will go BEYOND the standard advice that I can get from any career website or a forum like this (use action verbs, quantify your achievements instead of listing duties, etc.).

The expertise I really need is: —someone who understands the nonprofit space, especially that there is a lot of variation in titles and roles and so focusing on a narrow “target” is not realistic because a job that’s a great fit could be called lots of things and be at lots of different kinds of organizations. And so won’t start the conversation by asking what my target role and target company are. —Uncovering and articulating transferable skills, and otherwise helping someone who is a generalist figure out what to emphasize (or what to combine in different versions of a resume) My question is how do I find someone with demonstrated capacity to do this? How can I have a prospective consultant prove that they could actually do this for me without them being afraid that I’m trying to get free work? What questions do I ask that can be answered in a way that’s not just their marketing talking points and buzzwords?

Hi, I created a GPT for job seekers that would be great for this. Inbox me if you are interested in getting the link. It's free to use. Best wishes in your career transition.

A career coach or resume writer can help you regardless of having a background in the career area in which you are focused. Ensure the individual has experience in resume writing and coaching - that is most critical. At the same time, I do understand that the NP knowledge could help you focus on what is next for you. Perhaps you should consider reaching out to a previous boss/mentor in the NP space.
