ATS vs Designed Resumes?

Shout out to all my fellow creative leaders. As I apply for new art and creative director roles, I feel challenged with finding a balance between an ATS-friendly resume and one that stands out from the crowd to visually draw in an actual hiring manager. How are you approaching ATS-friendly resumes while keeping the overall look of your resume unique?

Hi Trisha. Fellow creative director here. After my layoff last year I've tried a few variations of my resume, from fully designed to a basic Word doc and am now I'm using something that is a balance between the two in order to be read by ATS systems. So far not much success but I'm finding via networking groups that this is historically a bad job market and referrals seem to provide the best outcomes.

Hi Trisha! I started with a visually appealing resume - ok results - and I am about to start a test this week with an ATS-friendly resume... I will keep you posted!
