Interview with Team advice

I had an amazing interview a couple of days ago. I was invited for a final interview to meet the team and see if it is a great fit. I am able to adapt to new people and situations quickly but I am still nervous. I was laid off because of covid and have been doing odd jobs and what not. I really need to find my next step. Does anyone have any insight on how interviews like this might be run?

Congratulations on landing the team interview! It's understandable to be nervous - ask the recruiter who you'll be meeting with so you can do some research on LinkedIn or the company website. Think of some poignant questions that you can ask them in the interview - they'll be delighted at the effort!

Really great to hear that you have a final interview. Completely understandable that you might feel nervous as you have a lot at stake here. However, it may help to understand where your nervousness comes from. Your brain is sensing a "threat" and producing adrenaline. The adrenaline is what makes us feel a little jittery or nervous. But the adrenaline does something else too - it sharpens all of our senses so that we see more clearly, hear more accurately, it helps us to pay attention - all great things in an interview scenario. If you are worried that your feeling of nervousness might overwhelm you, I recommend a short breathing technique to help: - breathe out [slight huffing sound] for the count of 5 - breathe in for the count of 3 - hold your breath for the count of 3 - repeat 3 times This should reduce your adrenaline production just a little. Hope that it goes well. Good luck!
