Winter Blues
In 2019 I was excised by a large investment bank because my boss had retired and the new person wanted to bring in his own team. I was fortunate to find roles for my entire staff in other areas of the company but was not able to secure one for my level. I had been with the company for 20 years and so my disappointment was palpable. I was lucky that I received a significant severance but I was gobsmacked at how hard it was to look for another role. I found a role at a small company just as the pandemic hit, I was thankful because it saved my family from financial ruin. It has been a year and now I am struggling with this role, it does not interest me and the owners of the company have misrepresented themselves. I recently restarted my job search and I have gotten 0 hits. I have reached out to my network, I have applied through company websites, I have emailed recruiters and the list goes on. I have nothing to show for it. I really don’t know what is wrong with me. I had my resume updated by a professional, along with my LinkedIn profile. I know people find jobs at different companies but I can’t seem to find anything and I just don’t know what to do anymore. Any thoughts?
