Covid Month three: Are you seeing great career opportunities opening up? (Hint: they are, follow these tips!)
Am I the only one who sensed that March was insane as we first realty grappled with the covid quarantine in the US east coast?
Now, as we clumsily see pickets of the country opening back up, it’s chaotic all over again? Folks aren’t sure how to navigate the possibilities or how to negotiate fir the flexibility they need to keep their career on track, their job performance above expectations, and still stay sane.
I Promise you there’s a ton of career opportunities out there if you just keep moving forward.
Now is not the time to hide your head in the sand and freak out about the unknown.
Just the opposite: take time now to inventory your contributions to your team, your community (and yes, paid or volunteer efforts all count).
We’re seeing folks with multiple interviews and offers. That’s a blessing despite what you hear on the news!
Hot industries include healthcare, HR, IT, project management, communications and branding. Lots of these allow you to embrace your transferable skills.
More importantly, keep your LinkedIn updated and keep virtual networking! Always ask a question and positively contribute to the chat room. Post your LinkedIn URL in the chat and invite folks to a virtual coffee.
We just had a global executive who is rehearsing her negotiating skills on Monday. She was NOT looking for a new job yet, because she’s polished her personal branding and remained visible even while working remotely, a great company is chasing her.
If you want to JoIn us Monday at 3-4 on eastern, we will be brainstorming negotiation tips and practicing together on zoom. It’s shared learning, lots of fun.
