I just completed a successful job search myself. It took me 6 months. I am a midlevel manager. I start my new job Tuesday.
I had a shift in February March in my thinking and confidence. I had a big win at work which boosted my confidence and allowed me to quiet to ss imposter syndrome voices. Suddenly I was being headhunted instead of applying. It was kind of magic. Not sure if it was just timing, or my new renewed confidence but I got so many more second interviews and even withdrew my application to one job I was hunted for that did not feel right. And this new job feels right. I am really happy and excited. I have not had to job hunt in23 years but finally had to leave my company as I could no longer keep growing and learning and it was starting to feel toxic after layoffs last year and not enough staff for the workload but demands not being reduced. I am hunting now as well and always open to expanding my network. I agree with the tip listed here. When I started applying authentically to things I knew I'd have some interest in and passion for, I started getting real traction. What has your experience been like so far?

I have experienced the same thing. Once I narrowed down what I really wanted, I started meeting the right people and finding job posts that aligned with what I was looking for.
