Hello from Maryland
I have been an elementary special education teacher for 30 years.
I am now looking for a career with the opportunity to work remotely.
I have a background in training, curriculum development and technology.

Along the lines of teaching online, you could also look at Tutor.com or teaching English online. Alternately, a career as a trainer in an HR department for a variety of companies could also be an avenue to consider.
Cyber school in the today clime is the way to go. They need qualified teachers, such as yourself, to thrive and prepare new generations for the new normal.
Good luck to you.
Online teaching is EXHAUSTING. I
My company, Lexia Learning (a division of Rosetta Stone), is often looking for people with your background to deliver remote training sessions for teachers and school districts. Definitely check them out. Best of luck to you!
I made that leap 20+ years ago... from an elementary school to higher ed (program management, not teaching) and then to the for-profit vendor world where I've been remote for 15 years. I worked for an SaaS company for ten years in training.
Now, I've jumped again.... back into the writing world. Your skills as an educator are easily translated into training and development, curriculum design, etc. and there are lots of companies in this area that are in that arena. Depending on where you are in MD (Balt or DC area) you have Blackboard, Aha!, Discovery Education, and more. Is occasional or more frequent travel a deal breaker?
Think about what you want to do.... write, guide, mange others etc. and also why do you want a remote job? It might be a weird question with everyone being remote now due to COVID, but remote work is challenging and is definitely not easier than an onsite job.
Good luck!
I would consider looking at tech company who need people who can train on their platforms or look at taining software- elearning or LMS (learning managment software) examples: Cornerstone software, Lessonly, Moodle etc. Good luck!
Great suggestions. I will follow up with that. Thank you
Have you thought of delivering killer content? So many moms and dads are new home schooling parents due to Civid19 and have no framework for teaching . Could start as a killer blog and make build revenue either through sales if content/ mentoring parents/ advertising $ from your blog.
There is such a need for strong educators, and there are great opportunities for online teaching. Check out K-12.com.
Or use your amazing experience to work with an education management company like Pearson, Blackboard, Frontline, or something like that. There are a lot of great ed management companies that would be thrilled to have a former educator. Good luck!
Sounds interesting. What are your ideas for a new function?
I would love to work in curriculum development, integrating technology into online curriculum. I have a lot of experience working with the online component with students with learning disabilities, so I have a strong vision of what is and is not working.
How about online teaching? Several companies hire remote people to teach children english in other countries. Check out VIPkids.
