The importance of having a Job Search Strategy..
New week, New goals
I was laid off from job due to Covid and how it impacted the organization's bottom line. First came the pay cut for all contracts about 5 weeks prior to me being told they had to cut my role and some others.
I have been in this position before and I would like to share some effective job search insights.
Having a strategy is sooo important. Don't rush to just start pushing your resume out there. Having a strategy will keep you organized, focused and prepared.
Find 2-3 good recruiters that you trust and build that relationship

Post content that show's your expertise
Keep a detailed excel tracker of positions you are applying for (someone may contact a month after you have applied and you can refer back to your tracker)
Keep an excel tracker of your various company sign in credentials (user name and password)
Joining an accountability group can be helpful. The group can help each of you stay accountable during your job search
Applying for positions on a Sunday can be effective, it puts your application at top of the recruiters inbox on Monday/beginning of the week

What kind of strategy would you even recommend? I have had to search for jobs before and gone to work force centers that emphasize applying everywhere and updating resumes but not much more than that. Many well meaning peoples seem to push to find any job available and being grateful for whatever you get.
Morning Katrina, I talk about some of the steps to take to help you stay focused and organized. I also offered a few tips, like I have found applying for positions on Sunday's seems to get me more traction.
Also, networking is key.
Identifying your top 10 companies you would like to work for and really hone in those companies and try and connect and network with any connections you may have at that company to help get your resume in front of the hiring manager or HR. Hope this helps. E!
