Hi All,
I hope the rest of you are having better luck in this job seekers market. I was laid off mid-April, have been on numerous phone / in-person interviews and ghosted. I have revamped my resume using Copilot - which I did against my better judgement. I have over 30 years of experience from retail to banking to workers' comp to the industrial contractors' industries. I kind of feel that potential employers think I am overqualified.
Listen, I do not have a college / university degree, I have years of experience. If I'm applying to a job opening, it's because I need a job. People apply to jobs to: A) They need a job B) They want to see if the grass is greener or C) They want a change of scenery.
I'm applying because I need a job. The job I really want is a remote job. Something I can do from anywhere.
Good luck to everyone who is searching.
I 100% feel your frustration. I too found my role eliminated this year after 25 years as a high performer. I utilized the resume writer, succumbed to AI resume assistance for language and ATS alignment, had 5 rounds of interviews with two different organizations and was not offered roles. I had a few other interviews and then ghosted. About 95% of applications go without response. I am in category D with I need a job. It is wildly defeating some days, and others not so bad but know that you are not alone and I know this is months after your original post but I do hope you are in good spirits and hanging in there and one step closer to a new job if not already in one!
