Hello, I'm new.
Hello, I'm new to this group. I'm an editor, was laid off in January, and have found that Columbus, Ohio, is not the most active market for editors and publishing in general. COVID may not have been the cause of my RIF, but in a strange twist of irony, it seems to be helping in my job search. With the advent of so much remote work, I've been having more luck with editorial positions based on the East coast (fully remote) than here at home. I find myself applying to jobs regardless of location, not knowing whether they will be willing to hire a fully remote employee (the postings never mention remote work). Has anyone else experienced this?
It sounds like it's going well for you. Good luck.
Yes! We have big industry clients who said they would NEVER hire remotely and now have completely changed their hiring model. Things are changing quickly!
