I am an Executive Assistant with 20 years of experience supporting executives.
My primary skill sets are relationship building, travel/calendaring and securing work/life balance for my executive! And I love supporting high morale in work place with updated policies, better processes and event planning.
I watched a video from Lisa Rangel today in which she spoke of ageism in job search. She noted that most of us bring it into our search ourselves by the verbiage we use. For example, when we say "...with 20 years of experience..." in our LI profile, resume, other documents, WE brought it into the search. Stop saying and putting these things in paper. "Years doesn't mean anything. We all know people with oodles of years of experience yet they can't find themselves out of a paper bag," Linda said. Also using current terminology when speaking about job duties, tasks, etc. Good luck in your search.
I absolutely agree Carrie. It's similar to spending 15 years at a company and wondering why that company pays so little.
