After working for 8 months as a contractor, I'm hoping to apply and get a permanent position at the same company.
How do I set up my resume and cover letter to leverage my recent experience and convey my enthusiasm for the company mission which is helping community members during tough times? I'm also not sure how to negotiate a salary and benefits package of $80k+ if I don't want to be in management.
I believe we will need the information that has been omitted in order to answer you appropriately.
What is the open role you are applying for, what is the length of your contract, has anyone discussed your contract coming to an end and opened discussion about keeping you on board permanently, and what is the salary for that position you are applying for posted as?
Thanks for responding to my post. The role that I'm applying for is a program management type opening. The contract will be ending in September and there is no option to stay on permanently because it is a pandemic related project, where the team was created for a specific purpose. There are no openings in the same department at this time. The stated salary is a 60K to 80K range.

I had this same issue. I’m starting a new in office job at a Bank soon and had a minor panic attack at what I should wear. I’m not going to wear a suit, because I’m not client facing, but I’ve decided to wear tailored dresses and pencil skirts. I also will be taking wardrobe cues from other co workers who are there. But, I’m going miss working in my loose comfy clothes! My advice would be to dress to fit in with what others are wearing. Of course there’s the old adage, that it’s better to be overdressed than underdressed ?
Are management positions your only options in this company?
Is your current role a position in the company?
Thanks for responding. No, there are many different options but I'm interested in a program management type of role. My current role is not a position at the company because our team was created in response to the pandemic.
