I recently found out that there are some serious ethical issues happening at my company and I can't in good conscience stay here.

However, I'm also not in a position to jump ship without a new job in place. Its hard to stay motivated, and also to look for a job. Any advice on how to work through this?

WOW! That sucks! Large companies offer a ethics hotline to call in things like this anonymously. If it's a small company usually a department will own compliance and ethics: usually finances or HR. You can speak to HR or send them an anonymous email with the details so it can be looked into. If you think that this changes your view on the company, then start looking for your next role. There are a ton of places that have openings depending on what you are looking for. Good luck! I'm sure everything will work out.

Yikes! I've been there and you have my empathy. Here's a post we did about what to consider before leaving your job: https://arcvida.com/Blog/Post/what-to-consider-before-quitting-your-job

I’m going through this right now myself. I just have to keep operating in integrity every day and remember that as long as I’m here I have a responsibility to my staff and the customers to give as much quality as I can without contributing to personal detriment. Hope this helps and good luck ?

I totally agree with what Sam and Arika said, but you also need to be prepared to CYA in relation to any of the unethical stuff going on. Don't approve things that seem off, or anything like that. Signatures on documents have a way of biting you in the ass later on in these situations, especially if this gets bigger, there's a whistleblower and litigation is pending.

Agree with what Sam said! It's good that you recognize it's not a fit for you, and that's perfectly fine. I would totally build a calendar around working on a new job. I hope your next gig is a much better environment for you and still aligns with your career goals. Wishing you the best of luck!!! Positive vibes only. You got this!

That's certainly a tough situation to be in! While it can feel demoralizing to stay in a job where you don't agree with the actions, values, or something else happening within the company, as long as you're set on leaving, focus your energy and efforts into your job search and just do what you have to, to get through your current job. The sooner you start applying to new positions and interviewing, the sooner you can leave your current role!
